Mustang Breaks Out Seats For The FXSB Softail Breakout® At Laconia

mustang1Mustang is breaking out comfort for the 2013-14 Harley-Davidson® FXSB Softail. Fans of Harley’s CVO Breakout® are getting the first look at these new seats on display at the Mustang truck during the Laconia Rally. Mustang’s big rig is located at Laconia H-D in Meredith, NH and will be there through June 22nd.

Rally-goers will get a glimpse at two versions of Mustang’s popular Tripper Fastback™ seat for the wide-tire Breakout. Although both seats offer a 13” front width for the driver and a 7” wide rear, the big difference is the addition of a Tuck and Roll option. “Our Tripper Fastback™ offers a super clean, custom style, well suited for the lines of the Breakout,” says Mustang’s Marketing Director Marilyn Simmons. “It is cut low for the rider and offers good back support.”

Although the seat is tapered in back, it still offers a reasonable degree of passenger comfort. Priced at only $349 US retail it offers plenty of bang for your buck. The Tripper Fastback™ Tuck and Roll offers a similar shape but features a center panel cover that is hand-stitched in a classic ribbed pattern for only $359 retail.

If you can’t make it to Laconia to see the new seats in person, check out Mustang’s full range of replacement seats at www.mustangseats.com.

THE ADVENTURE BEGINS Mustang Makes Seats For BMW’s Big GS

BMWsm

Combining 34 years of seat making expertise with the latest CAD-CAM engineering, Mustang Motorcycle Products LLC has created a new seat exclusively for the BMW R1200 GS adventure touring bike. Already well known for its offerings in the V-Twin/Metric Cruiser markets, Mustang has recently branched out, creating a range of replacement seats and accessories for Triumphs as well as a custom seat program. However, the new BMW seat marks Mustang’s first foray into the increasingly popular Adventure Touring segment.

“Although the Adventure Touring market is new to us, Mustang is the leader in all-day comfort,” explains Mustang Marketing Director, Marilyn Simmons. “Mustang has been focused on handcrafting the world’s most comfortable seats since 1980… which is just as long as BMW has been offering its GS range of adventure bikes.” The BMW GS series of dual purpose off-road/on-road BMW motorcycles was launched back in 1980 with the original R80G/S (in fact, GS refers to Gelände/Straße German for off-road/road).

This new seat is much more than a simple cover or a pad added to the stock seat. “There are three reasons why Mustang seats make a difference: our baseplates, our foam and our cover,” she adds. “Our years of experience have taught us that without a proper base to build on, no amount of foam will make the seat as comfortable as it should be.” This “better by design” philosophy also included meticulously designing five new mounting brackets on Mustang’s CAD terminals. Then it was onto the padding.

Vertically challenged riders will also appreciate the fact that the Mustang seat sits 1.5 inches lower than stock. In addition to the fact that the driver seat can be set at two different heights, it is also just 14 inches wide, facilitating most riders’ ability to plant their feet while in the saddle. Options include a 9 inch wide passenger seat and a fully adjustable, easily removable built-in driver backrest. Visit Mustangseats.com to see more

Hillbilly 223 Custom Firearms & Finishes

hillbilly

It was one of those last minute road trips we take, the ones that usually start like this, “Hey wanna got for a ride?” “Sure, lets take a cruise.” Next thing I know He’s bringing me to Arkansas, just a short 10 hour trip. I had heard about the people we were going to visit from him before, and actually saw some of Boyd’s work, but getting there and seeing his work in person was, of course, way better then some cell phone pics could ever try to relay.
We were in a little town just outside of Eureka Springs, Arkansas and at the shop of Boyd Lemons Hillbilly 223 Custom Firearms and Finishing.
Boyd’s business started in 2008 and he has been doing one-of-a-kind camouflage patterns and custom ‘paint jobs’ on knives, rifles, handguns and accessories since. This is a family run business and I had the pleasure to get to know his wife Val, who is no doubt a Garage-Girl like us, Val enjoys being outdoors, bonfires, gardening, good healthy organic food, hiking, shooting, like I said, all the same interests we have here.
Anyway, I wanted to share the talent from Hillbilly 223 Custom finishes because I know first hand a ton of our readers have quite the collection of personal firearms. If you are interested in a custom finish on your piece or pieces (Think gift for your old man too) I wanted to be sure you knew how to get in touch with these guys. Our road trip was an awesome experience and even better time getting to know these extremely talented, awesome people! Check out the webpage and go “like” ’em on FB. Nothing better than supporting American Made! Tell em Garage-Girls sent ya!
