J&P Cycles Ranks Among 25 Retailers With Best Customer Service

JP-Logo
Just in time for online Christmas shopping, J&P Cycles, was recently featured in a Business Insider report which listed the top 25 retailers with the best customer service. It’s an illustrious group of retailers too, with the likes of Apple, Nordstrom, Zappos, LL Bean included as well. J&P has been dedicated to optimizing the customer experience since its fledgling days in the late ‘70s. Founded by John and Jill Parham, J&P Cycles provides motorcycle parts and accessories through its mail-order catalog, online retail site and at its Destination Daytona Super Store in Ormand Beach, Florida.
The Business Insider report cites a Stella Service survey which sought to determine which companies provided the best customer service from August through October 2015. Telephone and email service, shipping and return policies were all evaluated in the survey. In the overall ranking, J&P finished 24th of 25, was 10th of all companies surveyed in the chat-based response service area, 14th overall in shipping and 18th in returns. We would have to say that is pretty darn good. Way to go J&P Cycles!

Mustang Has The Best Seat In The House For IMS Tour

MMP15_FB_IMS_portland

Ready to check out the difference a comfortable seat makes? Mustang rolls into the 2016 Progressive International Motorcycle Show (IMS) series with some surprises starting this weekend in Portland, Oregon. One year after Mustang celebrated its 35th anniversary, the IMS tour kicks off its own 35th edition of the largest motorcycle shows in the country. Spanning 10 cities and stretching from October 2015 to the final stop in Phoenix on February 20-21, 2016,

“This Halloween weekend, we will be treating people in Portland to the finest seats in the house,” says Mustang’s business development director, Marilyn Simmons. “No tricks, just the most comfortable motorcycle seats you have ever experienced.” To facilitate even more experiences, a couple of new “seat-horses” (think saw horses for seats) have been incorporated into the display.

“Not only does this give a rider a better feel for the seat, but we have even positioned some foot pegs on the seat horses so that a passenger can feel the difference when riding two-up,” says Simmons. IMS show-goers should look for the brand new Mustang kiosk in the Marketplace section.

Featured at each stop on the IMS Tour, the Marketplace is an interactive retail space for motorcycle parts and accessories. This unique show-within-a-show offers attendees the opportunity to touch, test and/or try the newest top parts, accessories and gear while interacting with factory specialists from leading manufacturers. Mustang’s Rally director John Glynn will be on hand for the weekend to work the display. “We think it is important to have factory trained experts on hand to explain the Mustang difference,” says Glynn. “There is more to a seat than meets the eye!”

The destination may be the ride, but the overall experience is even better when the pilot and the passenger are comfortable! Discover the Mustang difference and enhance your riding comfort at the IMS tour stops this season. See the full schedule of International Motorcycle Shows at:

Harley-Davidson Footwear Kayleigh boot

Fall is here and it’s the perfect time of the year for motorbike rides that last all day and end with a bonfire.  I love when we head out early and keep finding another road to travel down.  On this day I chose the Kayleigh boot by Harley-Davidson Footwear, because I knew we would be stopping by to visit some friends that enjoy the pastime of firing off some rounds.  (means we would be doing some hiking out to an open field).   I like the way these boots fit, they kept my feet happy as I trekked out  to set up targets  and when we were  just putting miles on the motorcycle.  These boots are rugged enough to handle the terrain I encounter on my travels, but gentle enough on the inside to keep me from complaining abut sore feet.   We had a great day full of friends, mountains, motorbikes, firearms, bonfires and food, add in happy feet and I’m  not sure you can get a better day than that!

2015 Ultimate Biker Makeover Winner

matt

Garage-Girls and GEICO Motorcycle are proud to announce this years Ultimate Biker Makeover winner; Matthew Palmer. Matthew was selected among over 130 entries to this years contest from the story and photo he submitted.

It was a tough decision, as it always is, but the votes went in favor of Matthew.

SGT Matthew Palmer; a medic in the United States Army for the last 5 years, sent in a story of a horrific accident he endured on his motorcycle.  “Coming home from Camp H. M. Smith on a sunny Oahu day when I was forced to make a life or death decision.” Just some of the words Matthew used to describe his incident. Told he may never walk normally again, Matthew is determined to ride again. “The bike and I were badly hurt. Once I got to the hospital I was told I had a broken leg and arm and that both would require surgery to fix properly. I was also told that the cops never got the individuals information before he left the scene, leaving myself and my insurance to foot the bill.    I don’t know if I will ever walk properly again or have  full recovery in my hand, but I will ride again. That is why I think I should be given this prize package. Not because I want you to feel sorry for me; but because I want to show everyone who has been in an accident and not gotten back on the bike or for everyone who is too afraid of what could happen, that it is okay.”

Garage-Girls and GEICO Motorcycle are proud to help Matthew along during his recovery.

Matthew will get to take home all the prizes which include; A wardrobe of shoes from Harley-Davidson Footwear, a case of full synthetic oil from Spectro Oils, A new Mustang Motorcycle Seat, a set of tires from AVON Tyres, Motorcycle Helmet, Jacket AND Gloves by J&P Cycles and Roland Sands Designs, clothing by Hinjinx Apparel, Bikers Choice and MUCH MORE!!  GEICO Motorcycle made the official announcement live on stage at the Buffalo Chip during this years 75th Sturgis Rally tonight August 6th!

The first annual Aidan’s Ride; Sturgis August 6, 2015

aiden

The first annual Aidan’s Ride Sturgis, a charity motorcycle ride organized to fight ALD, will take place August 6, 2015, during the 75th anniversary of the iconic Sturgis Motorcycle Rally®. It will consist of a 75-mile ride around Bear Butte that ends at the Buffalo Chip Crossroads with a catered brunch. You can register online here

Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) is an inherited x-linked genetic disease that affects all neurological functions and reduces those afflicted with it to a vegetative state that persists until death. Aidan Jack Seeger was just six years old when he was diagnosed with ALD in 2011. He succumbed to the disease in April of 2012. Had he been diagnosed at birth, he could have undergone treatment that would have arrested the disease and allowed him to live a full life.

Held to benefit the Aidan Jack Seeger Foundation, which was established in Aidan’s honor, Aidan’s Ride Sturgis seeks to raise funds for the purpose of helping families with children diagnosed with Adrenoleukodystrophy, heightening awareness about ALD and pushing for legislation in every state that mandates screening of newborns for the disease.

Currently, New York is the only one of the United States to screen for ALD, thanks to Aidan’s Law, passed by the state legislature in the wake of Aidan’s tragic and untimely death. As of June 15, 2015, 340,000 newborns have been screened in New York and 32 babies have tested positive for the disease. Thanks to early detection, these children are undergoing treatment that will allow them to live full lives.

The cost for Aidan’s Ride Sturgis is just $50 and includes participation in the 75-mile ride, a full catered brunch at the end of it, non-alcoholic beverages and limited edition pin and patch. The ride is made possible by generous support from Metzeler Tires, Hot Leathers, The Buffalo Chip and Indian Larry Motorcycles.

MUSTANG’S MODERN DAY CLASSICS Seats For Indian’s New Scouts

MMP15_Scout_blksolobkrest_sideviewIndian Motorcycle’s new Scout combines classic styling cues from the 1920s with modern day performance. Mustang’s new line of seats and related accessories for the Scout follow this “best of both worlds” philosophy, allowing you to combine the latest in comfort with the look of yesteryear. Whether you opt for an all-day Touring seat or a low and lean RunAround™, Mustang has Indian Scout riders sitting pretty.

“We have always been partial to Indian motorcycles around here,” Mustang Sales Manager Jesse Sargent readily admits. “The birthplace of Indian motorcycles is in Springfield, Massachusetts, less than 30 minutes from Mustang’s historic factory here in Three Rivers, so we have been following Indian’s progress closely.”

Available in black or classic brown, Mustang kicks off the line with a variety of seats and accessories. “We think it was worth the wait,” says Jesse. “If you like riding to far-away places, the Touring solos and passenger seats offer you and your companion support and comfort for the entire journey.” Touring seats feature Mustang’s controlled-density, proprietary foam, precisely molded to the shapes and angles needed for optimal cruising comfort. The 13″ wide solo and 8.5″ wide passenger seat provide ample room for comfort without compromising the look of the bike.

“The cover designs are brand-new concepts developed by our designers just for the Scout,” he adds. Available in black or classic brown vinyl, the two-tone pattern complements the look of the motorcycle. “The center stripe ties the solo, passenger seat and the driver backrest developed just for the Scout together visually.” But even bigger news is the fact that Mustang now offers leather seating panels exclusively for the Scout Touring solo seats.

For riders preferring to cruise closer to home, consider the RunAround™. “Mustang’s engineers developed this 9.5″ wide solo to be low, lean and mean so you will look classy and cool all around town.” The vinyl cover features distinctive styling and is also available in black or brown. “Whatever your style, Mustang has an option for your Scout that will let you show off the look and go the extra mile,” concludes Jesse.

In addition to the new seats and related accessories for the Scout, Mustang also offers replacement seats and accessories for the Chieftain, Chief Classic and Chief Vintage. For more details, visit http://www.mustangseats.com/ or call 413-668-1100.

Update from 2014 Ultimate Biker Makeover winner

me and green toys_

“I see your deadline for the Garage Girls Ultimate Biker Makeover is fast approaching, so I thought I would send you my newest pic of my 56 Panhead, now that it is painted along with my 74 Rallye Charger!  My 81 Ironhead is in the newest edition of The Horse magazine, with a four page feature and my Panhead tattoo sleeve was featured in their Tattoo Corner in last month’s edition!  The bike also got a four page feature in Wild Motorcycles magazine, out of France a few months ago.

I am currently putting the finishing touches on both my Panhead and my Charger.  I am in the midst of completing my Knucklehead sleeve on my left arm and hopefully by next year, I will be riding my 39 EL Knuckle.  My 73 Rallye Challenger has finally went into the shop where my paint and bodyman, Jim Crabb will start working his magic to make it Plum Crazy Purple.

Life has been so exciting and I hope I can spread motivation to others!  I can’t believe it has been almost a year since I won the 2014 Garage Girls Ultimate Biker Makeover!

Good luck to each and every person who has entered or will enter the contest!  Winning  truly was a dream come true and I will be forever grateful!”
