The Limpnickie Lot Footprint takes on a personal challenge in Sturgis

At every rally, the Limpnickie Lot leaves their footprint within the community, this year the goal will be to find a match for Aidan Seegar. Bobby and Elisa’s son Aidan has been diagnosed with a rare brain disease called Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). Aidan is a beautiful 6 year old boy with huge blue eyes and a smile that is contagious. He is full of personality and laughter. He is in dire need of a bone marrow donor. You may know Aidans parents who run Indian Larry Legacy out of Brooklyn New York. The family is close to everyone at Limpnickie, Cycle Source magazine and us here at Garage-Girls. When something like this hits close to home, the only thing you can do is step up.

The Limpnickie Lot is proud to announce a marrow drive that will be taking place at the Lot, located inside the Buffalo Chip with the help of   Be the Match Foundation* . They will be on location from Monday the 8th till Thursday the 10th.  They are asking that donations be made to help Be the Match* defer the cost of processing every test.  Please take a moment and help out a family in need.

If you are not attending the rally and want to find out if you are the match, please go to www.marrow.org and look for a drive or center near you. You can also request a mail-in kit, which is a painless cheek swab exam. This will put you in the marrow bank to not only help Aidan but potentially anyone else down the road with a similar situation. So please do not hesitate and get on board today.

We believe there is a match out there for Aidan, please find out if it’s you!

Winners get “Hooked Up” at the Garage-Girls Ultimate Biker Makeover, Carlisle Edition brought to you by GEICO powersports.

After a month of public voting the 2 winners of the Garage-Girls Ultimate Biker Makeover finally claimed their prizes during Carlisle Bike Fest. In Carlisle PA July 23rd 2011.  Talk about a fun filled day!  Everyone knows as we get older it’s more fun to give than to receive and let me tell you myself, Crystal and Millicent had a blast watching the winners Mary and Pat  take in all the prizes they had just won.  The weekend was brutal hot, temps over 100 but that didn’t stop us all from having a good time and enjoying each others company.  This is our 3rd year doing the Ultimate Biker Makeover and every year each winner has been just amazing! All of us here at Garage-Girls consider ourselves so lucky to meet and spend the day with these wonderful people.
As you all know we asked Contestants (guys and girls) to submit a 600 words or less essay – describing why they are most in need of a biker makeover by May 10, 2011. Submissions were narrowed down to the final four by selected judges from Garage-Girls and Carlisle Events. The final 4 were then placed on Garage-girls.com for the public to vote for who they felt most deserved the Ultimate Biker Makeover.  Runner up Mary Pinkerton shared her story of experiencing the loss of her mother and then being informed she was diabetic. After focusing on her health and making changes to her new condition she has found herself many pounds lighter and with riding gear that no longer fits her properly.  Grand Prize Winner Pat Henderson shared her story of continually making self-sacrifices to provide her children with all she could, which included giving up her motorcycle. With her children grown she is asking for help in fulfilling her dreams of getting back out on the road.
Mary and Pat were both treated to a fun filled day at Carlisle Bike Fest.  Each receiving all-new gear and accessories including a new riding jacket from HOT LEATHERS, riding gloves and helmet by Z1R, riding boots by HARLEY-DAVIDSON FOOTWEAR, riding glasses from 7 EYE, clothing by REBEL GIRL, a $50 gift certificate to OTTERBOX.com, a cool kit filled with cleaning supplies by WIZARDS PRODUCTS, and each a case of full synthetic oil by SPECTRO OILS. Pat, the grand-prize winner, also received accessories for her motorcycle including a new seat by MUSTANG SEATS, a set of tires by AVON TYRES, a set of fork springs by PROGRESSIVE SUSPENSION, and lots of chrome goodies by KURYAKYN including grips, hiway pegs, chrome accents, the sound of chrome speakers and a tour pack luggage bag.  GEICO Insurance the presenting sponsor surprised Mary the runner up with a $200 gas gift card since she trekked all the way from Houston Texas!  The retail value of the prizes for Mary, the runner up was $1,034.95 and for grand prizewinner Pat,  $2,746.62!   Can you imagine scoring all of that!   Stay tuned to Garage-Girls for next years contest, this could be you!

Rally TV, The Show you Watch Before you Go Anywhere! Is headed to Sturgis.

All of us here at Garage-Girls are psyched about this project because our very own Sara Liberte is co-creator along with Cycle Source Magazine’s Chris Callen. We just got word that Rally TV will be riding into the Black Hills and will be set-up with the Limpnickie Lot at the Buffalo Chip Campground. That isn’t where it stops, they will be at all the hot spots all over Sturgis including rides, events, shows and just roaming Mainstreet. With over 32,500 views of their videos from Laconia Motorcycle Week and Daytona it’s no wonder that Wizards Products, Garage Leathers , Black Hills Harley-Davidson, Pingel/Shifters Bar and Grill, Las Vegas Bike Fest and Sick Boy have signed on to sponsor segments during Rally TV’s Sturgis reporting.  Rally TV will be out among the bikers to document all the action and be the #1 online news source for all your Sturgis Bike Week information. Rally TV is the only grassroots video production company that allows bikers to interact and share their lifestyle with other bikers. Each day Rally TV will upload “Daily News” and an “Event Guide” to everything Rally TV sees as a fun thing to do which, can be viewed www.rallytvonline.com day or night. In addition Rally TV will be uploaded to a variety of motorcycle focused social media platforms including Bikernet.com, CycleSource.com, our own site Garage-Girls.com, Facebook and the Rally TV Youtube Channel.

Rally TV is known for their fun biker segments and knowing where the action is at every motorcycle event they attend, then immediately uploading them to the internet so anyone can have a look into the action just after it happens. So if you see the Rally TV crew out with a microphone and camera make sure you go up and say hi.

David Uhl Annual Sturgis Piece

As most of you know, every year Garage-Girls favorite moto-artist David Uhl creates a new masterpiece for the Sturgis Rally and for Daytona Bike Week.  This year’s Sturgis piece, titled “Sly Hill Showdown”  combines some of David’s favorite things in life and joins past offerings such as “Stranger in Town”, “An August to Remember” and “Whiskey Business” in this collection.
In David’s words, “Approaching this years commemorative piece was highly influenced by my March Daytona release.  As I did earlier in the year,  I wanted to portray some unusual moment that may happen during the course of the Rally.  In this case, I chose the depiction of a classic hot rod interacting with one of the largest growing segments of the riding community, a woman.  Last year, I followed 3 of the coolest Rat Rods out to the Buffalo Chip, and intrigued with what these guys had done with their cars, I realized that they were amazingly similar to the custom bike builders I know.  As an artist, I am always looking for a unique angle, so I decided to put them together, way outside the fray of the huge crowds on Main Street.  They are on Sly Hill Road, just underneath the Sly Hill Sturgis sign that we all have come to know and love. I hope you enjoy this years commemorative.
As always, David is offering this piece at special commemorative pricing through the end of the rally on August 14th and including shipping within the contiguous U.S. for orders placed now.   Matching edition numbers are available for those collecting the entire Sturgis Commemorative series.  Each canvas print will come hand-signed and numbered and framed with Certificate of Authenticity.  The final edition size will be established at the end of the rally when we total the number of prints sold by that time.
Edition specifics:
“Regular” canvas print – image size 30” x 20”, $895 framed and shipped within the contiguous U.S.
“Large” canvas print – image size 42” x 28”, $2,850 framed and shipped within the contiguous U.S.

FRANKLIN

Psst… Wanna hear a secret? The bunny volunteers around here have nicknames for me. They think I don’t know, but I hear them calling me ‘Cuddlebunny’ and ‘Handsome Fellow.’ And I have to say, I can’t disagree with them. I AM quite the handsome cuddlebunny!

I like it best when I’m petted between my ears and I will often sit for a minute or two before running off to play. I’m young and I have a lot of energy to spare so I have to do the most with my free time! After a little cuddle time, I like to get out there and see the bunny world. There is much explore for a young bunny like me. I am waiting for a place of my own to call home that I can explore every day.

I’ve got it all, the white fur, the pink eyes and the personality to go with it. I’m an easy going guy and I get along with pretty much all of the bunnies here. I haven’t found my BFF yet but I’m taking my time and getting to know everyone. Besides, maybe my BFF will find me from the outside world instead. You just never know.

Come on in and visit me soon at Animal Friends. I bet you won’t be able to resist my good looks and winning personality
