BORIS

Friendly and affectionate nine-year old yellow lab, Boris, has quickly become a favorite with Animal Friends’ volunteers. Whether out for a walk, or just sitting quietly, Boris is an attentive, engaging companion who will melt your heart with his easy-going smile and happy-go-lucky demeanor.

A social guy, Boris not only adores human companionship, but also enjoys other dogs, and he may even tolerate a cat! Though he seems to love everyone, Boris is an older dog who doesn’t play much, so he’d probably be happier in a home with older children. If you think Boris might be loving companion you’re looking for, why not stop by Animal Friends and have one of the Adoption Counselors introduce you.

BLACKCURRENT

You know those old Hollywood movies where they walk into the jungle and hear all kinds of strange animal sounds? Once you’ve met me, you’ll think I was the one making all those noises! I’m Blackcurrent, one of the cats here at Animal Friends.

I’m one of the funniest vocal cats you’ll ever meet. Sometimes I meow, sometimes it’s a high-pitched “rowr,” or maybe even a guttural peep that you’d swear came from a jungle animal! I’m fun and very active too; I love to play!

I do like to come to you; I’m not one for being picked up and handled unless I’m ready for it. So I’d do best with older kids or people who understand that I’m not always a lap kitty. But I am a fun, funny companion to have around the house! Visit Animal Friends to meet me!

LAZENBY

What do you get when you take a moment and a shy bunny and mix them with a bit of love? One look at Lazenby and you’ll know the answer!

Lazenby is a shy but lovable bunny who enjoys being held and tends to get along with other bunnies. If you give him a little burrow or box that he can retreat to or use for a bed, a blanket (he’s partial to fleece), and a chew toy or three, he’ll be on cloud nine. Unlike most rabbits, he’ll lay peacefully in your arms, and being picked up doesn’t faze him in the least.

We asked Lazenby if there was anything specific he wanted to say. “I love anything green. In fact, a nice green snack could have me eating out of your hand.” (We know this to be literally true) “But whatever you do, don’t feed me carrots. YUCK! I don’t know how anyone can eat those things… they’re ORANGE!”

You can see that Lazy’s a pretty unusual bunny. Despite being a little shy, he’s well-behaved, likes being petted, and pretty content with life. He even keeps his home nice and tidy as long as he has a little retreat space. All he needs now is to be a part of your life. PLEASE Visit him at Animal Friends today!

Maybe MAYBELLINE is the one for you?

I’m Maybelline, and here’s how people describe me:
Gentle and affectionate; never aggressive
Shy with strangers
Playful
Adores being petted and held
Gets along with other quiet cats
I tend to be quiet, but I enjoy being with people. In spite of my slight limp, I can still chase wiggly string toys or bat at feather toys. I’m always ready for fun!
I came to Animal Friends as a stray with kittens. After I raised my kittens, I was adopted. But my new owners returned me because I had some dental problems that they couldn’t address.
I won’t borrow any makeup to bring out my natural beauty. Instead, I try my best to be a sweetheart with a loving heart. Maybe you can be the person who will love me in return?
Maybelline is a Red Collar Pet! Members of Animal Friends’ Red Collar Society know that adult pets can be the best, most experienced companions. Visit the Red Collar page on www.ThinkingOutsideTheCage.org to learn more.

ROCKWELL

I am a silver gray tabby, but if you look closely, you’ll see I’m a bit jowly. That may mean I have a bit of British Shorthair in me. I am getting attention here, but I am still on the shy side. I love to sit on laps and get petted, but I haven’t quite figured out this toy thing. When the volunteer puts a mouse or wand toy in front of me, I look at it for a second, and then I pounce. So, all I need is a person who is patient enough to wait for me to get over my shyness-and it would help if they had a couple of those mouse toy things so I can practice my pounce.  Please stop by Animal Friends and check me out!

TILDA

I was a stray kitty hanging around someone’s garage, hoping for a new home there. But the nice homeowner already had enough other cats and couldn’t keep me, so she brought me to Animal Friends.

And what a lucky cat I am! Now I have lots of kitties to play with, and people visit me every day. I’m a little shy with strangers, but I admit that I can be bribed with tasty kitty treats or a pinch of my real passion-catnip! Although I’m not yet brave enough to enjoy being held, I always like to be petted gently.

Don’t let my shyness make you think I’m unfriendly. Just give me some time to get to know you, and then you’ll see what a sweet kitty I am. I’m not asking for much from life. I’m just looking for someone to love me “tilda” end of time! However, I would prefer a home with kids over 12 please. Won’t you come see me at Animal Friends?

YOSHI

I came to Animal Friends because I was being neglected. Now look at my face-it’s gorgeous with those gold eyes set against a black and white background. Well, to be more specific, one eye has a black background and the other has a white one. But hey, you have to admit it’s a great look!

I am a gentle quiet cat who likes to be picked up and held. After being neglected and then coming here, I am still a bit on the shy side. All I really need to bring out my warm inner self is a quiet home and people who will give me a bit of time to get used to the new surroundings.

So, if you are patient and have a quiet home, I think we can work something out. Stop by Animal Friends and let’s meet!

POLLY

Like many pit bulls, I feel that I’m a little misunderstood. Everyone here at Animal Friends says that I’m such a sweetheart, but it makes me a little sad to see all of my friends move on to their forever homes while I’m still waiting here.

I can’t figure out why. I love to run outside and play, and I could chase toys and balls in the yard all day long. But I’d like relaxing with you as well! As a stray, I’ve definitely got a harder learning curve; I’m still working on my potty training and I sometimes get too excited and tug and pull at the leash. So I’m looking for someone who’s willing to take charge, probably with older children if they have any.

And best of all, my old friend Ezra has sponsored my adoption fee – so you’ve got no excuse not to come take me home! Please Visit Animal Friends Today!

MARJORY

What are you looking for in a dog? If it’s a calm, reliable friend who will always be there for you, you’ve found me! I’m Marjory and after a tough start to life, I’m looking to settle into a nice, quiet home with you.

I’m not easily startled or riled up – I just want some loving from my humans and a nice walk a few times a day. I don’t even chase cats; the handlers say that I’d probably try to cuddle with them if I could!

Young kids might not be a great mix for me, as I’m not used to all that running around. But I’d be a great addition for an older family looking for a new friend. I’m good with other dogs as well, so I know I’d fit right into your household. I hope to see you at Animal Friends soon!
