Justice belongs in a Norman Rockwell painting. This all-American black Lab is happy, relaxed, mellow, friendly, and very easygoing. Just imagine this loyal dog sitting next to your rocking chair on the porch while you sip lemonade! Justice is always smiling, like he knows the key to happiness and we think that he is ready to share his joy for life with everyone! Justice would like to be the only dog in the home, and would like to live with older children, as young ones can make him a bit uncomfortable. If he sounds like a good fit for you, just relax, chill out, and visit him here at Animal Friends in Pittsburgh, and he just might teach you the benefits of taking things easy.

Gypsie
According to her previous owner, Gypsie is friendly and playful, especially with string, towards everyone she meets. Here, at Animal Friends, Gypsie is a little scared and shy. Quietly and calmly, Gypsie spends most of her time laying in her Condo, waiting for a home in which she can relax and flourish into the loving and affectionate cat she wants to be. When alone with volunteers and staff, Gypsie is an attentive lap-sitter who likes to be petted and held. But in her condo, Gypsie can seem shy and timid. Gypsie is up-to-date on shots, micro-chipped, and spayed. If you can offer Gypsie the loving home she is waiting for, come to Animal Friends in Pittsburgh today to meet her!
Robert Downey
This big sweet guy seeks a forever home where he will be given the most precious gift of all….a place where he can feel safe, secure and loved. Robert Downey was found as a very thin and hungry stray who was brought to us by the dog warden. In spite of his age, Robert is playful with people and toys. He is friendly and full of love; when given the chance he will lean into you looking to give and receive affection. Robert enjoys being taken on long walks and is learning leash manners. He is uncomfortable with certain handling and wants you to know that he doesn’t like his paws or tail touched. Due to his age and some vision impairment it is recommended that Robert be adopted into an adult home. Are you looking for an affectionate companion like Robert? If so, stop by Animal Friends in Pittsburgh and meet him soon.
Butchy
If you are looking for a laid-back dog who is past all that puppy stuff, then Butchy is the perfect guy for you. Butchy is a very gentle, mature dog who likes to be around his family. He does well with other dogs but doesn’t like to be bothered by them. He will tolerate a younger, more active dog but we think Butchy would prefer to be the only dog or be in a home with older, calmer dogs like himself. Butchy doesn’t like to hugged or squeezed tightly, but gentle pets are perfect! Butchy is a perfect candidate for why older dogs make great pets. If you think Butchy would fit right in to your family, please give one of our Adoption Counselors a call today at Animal Friends in Pittsburgh and come in to meet him. He’s waiting!
Avery
Poor Avery has a very sad story. He and his “dad” lived in a trailer in Greene County without electricity or plumbing. One chilly night, a kerosene heater started a fire and burned the trailer to the ground. Avery and his dad escaped, but the poor Beagle was so spooked that he darted off into a forest and was lost.
Avery’s dad called his local animal shelter for help. They promised that if a lost Beagle turned up, they would let him know. Well, soon Avery did come to their door…and when the shelter staff called his dad, he gratefully identified Avery over the phone and promised to come get him. But, sadly, his dad never came. The shelter staff soon learned that Avery’s dad, while en route to pick up his beloved Beagle, was killed in a car accident.
Avery is a wise, gray-haired little fellow. He’s calm, sweet, affectionate and very easy to walk. His mellow, go-with-the-flow attitude makes him popular with other dogs. Because he is a senior citizen, we recommend a home without stairs, but we’re sure he’ll adapt if you have steps and are willing to help him out. After all, he’s one tough little Beagle who has already survived much worse. Can you open your heart and home to Avery? Stop by today and meet him at Animal Friends.
Stacie
I am a spayed orange tabby, and rather good looking if I do say so myself. Perhaps that sounds a bit arrogant, but I figure there’s nothing wrong with having pride in one’s appearance. Besides, I have a marvelous ringed tail! At a year and a half I am mature enough to know the rules, but there is still a lot of kitten in me.
My buddy Merry and I were brought to Animal Friends because we were being neglected in our former home. I am certainly looking forward to getting lots of attention in my new home.
I really like to play! I am perfectly capable of amusing myself, but I love to have my person(s) interact with me using a cat toy. I love pouncing on a toy mouse (hopefully my new home won’t have any live ones) or running into an empty paper bag and pretending it is my lair in the wilderness! Won’t you come meet me today at Animal Friends in Pittsburgh?
Wilhelmina
Wilhelmina – (will-a-meena) is a German name that means protector. Well, we’re not sure how much this seven-pound American Fuzzy Lop will defend you, but we’re sure her active and outgoing spirit will brighten and liven your home. She’s sort of dog-like with the way she’ll hop to you when you motion her, and she’s easy to handle, a joy to pet and highly entertaining to watch. Stop by Animal Friends and meet her today.
Mr. MIYAGI
like in the movie, Mr. Miyagi is very wise. Of course, by wise we mean he is a very smart kitty! He is a cat who would love to simply relax with his family. He is a very friendly cat and would enjoy a family with or without children. When it comes to other cats, although he is usually very friendly he can also react like a scared kitty sometimes! He is sometimes skeptical of strangers, but given time and encouragement he comes around quite famously. Mr. Miyagi is a big guy, which makes him all the more to cuddle with. He would love to meet someone who can handle all his loveliness and give him a wonderful forever home. Come by Animal Friends today!
ODIN
RUSTY
His name is Rusty. It fits, doesn’t it? You can easily win the heart of this friendly, 9-year-old orange tabby by swinging his favorite toy – a simple piece of string. But please keep the sweeper away! Rusty enjoys attention without being needy, and can actually be a bit chatty at times. You can tell by his mellow face he’s calm, and he will let you lift and embrace him. Give him a scratch and he might return the favor with a slightly freckled smile. With time, he can warm up to the idea of living with other cats. Rusty’s former owner moved to an assisted living home where she was unable to keep the slightly timid kitty. He’s used to human companionship, and will make a loyal pet for anyone who isn’t looking for a high-energy, high maintenance pet. Visit Rusty at Animal Friends today!
