Heidi is an affectionate and mild-mannered Pit Bull mix who was abandoned and found on the street in a nearby county. She was brought back to Animal Friends and is so content to be safe, warm and cared for. Although, what she hopes for most of all is to find a loving and caring forever home where she can take walks on a leash and chew on her favorite toy – a pig’s ear. Heidi would do best in a home with older children, and one where she would be the only dog. This sweet senior has had enough excitement in her lifetime and she looks forward to lounging around in her “golden years.” She has lots of love and affection to give. The staff and volunteers feel that Heidi would benefit, as well as enjoy, taking some of the classes here at Animal Friends with her new lifetime companion…it is such a great bonding experience. If you have the loving, quiet home that Heidi is looking for……stop by the adoption desk at Animal Friends and arrange to meet her
Chic is a beautiful fawn and white Beagle mix who is looking for an extra special home. One look into Chic’s eyes and you can see she is just waiting for someone to whom she can give her love. Chic has not had a special person to share her love with. She came from a home where she lived with 50 other dogs. Because of this she is a little shy at first, but warms up once she learns that she can trust you. She shares her kennel with a dog and would love a home with another dog with whom she could bond. Or perhaps you would like to adopt her cage mate as well! No one has ever taught Chic what it means to play or how to do all those great doggy tricks. She would be grateful to someone who would show her these joys and be patient with her while she learns. She would love to take a class with you at Animals Friends University to learn the things she needs to know to please you. If you are a person or family who has the love and patience to show Chic what it means to be a cherished member of your family, please meet her. Her eyes will melt your heart. Seeing her blossom into a trusting, loving companion will be a touching experience that you will forever cherish. Chic will be extremely thankful and repay you with years of unconditional love and friendship. Chich is currently learning positive behaviors in a foster home! If you are interested in meeting him, please call 412.847.7002 ext. 1 so that an Adoption Counselor at Animal Friends can contact his foster family!
I recently arrived from another shelter At first I was shy and scared and not a bit happy about my new surrondings. Over time I adjusted and I recently moved into one of the free roam rooms where I live with 9 other cats. I think I would prefer to be an only cat because I tend to be jealous and want all the visitor attention for myself. I love laser pointers and I hope that my new family has one at their house and maybe a couple of treats. If you’re in the neighborhood, stop by and see me at Animal Friends. I would love to make your house a home.
Hello! I am one of the cats known around Animal Friends as the “M” cats. I am one of 59 cats who Animal Friends’ Humane Officers rescued from a situation of neglect. Upon arrival I received medical care and now I am healthy and ready for adoption. I’ve had a rough start to life and although I may seem timid, I crave human attention and I also enjoy the company of most other cats. With some patience and a lot of TLC, I know that I will bloom in to a sweet loving companion. I would love to meet with you if you think you can give me the second chance at life that I have been dreaming of! I would love to go home with my “roomie” Mademoiselle or to a home with another friendly cat! Won’t you stop by Animal Friends to meet us?
I wound up at Animal Friends when my previous owner’s lifestyle changed. They started traveling in a trailer and while they tried to take me with them, I hated riding in the trailer and would get sick. Now, don’t get me wrong, Animal Friends is a great place, but I can’t wait to meet my new owners and go to my forever home!
At first I’m very shy and hide around strangers, but once I get to know you, I’m quite affectionate and love to sit on your lap! I’m rather chatty as well; I have a lot of opinions and am looking for someone to share them with! I love to be brushed; it keeps my calico coat looking nice and shiny.
I haven’t spent any time with young children, but older kids might be all right. Since I’m a bit shy, I would prefer a quiet household where I can be the only cat. So what are you waiting for? Come talk to an adoptions counselor at Animal Friends to see if I’m the cat for you!
Fozzie is a confident and friendly girl who is eagerly awaiting a new forever home and an owner who can give her all the attention that she craves. Initially shy around visitors, Fozzie will soon warm up and you will find that she loves to be petted and groomed. While she is mellow most of the time, she also enjoys letting her wild side out during playtime. Just pick up a feather toy and watch Fozzie let loose! Fozzie dislikes other cats and would love to go to a forever home where she can be the center of attention. Stop by Animal Friends and meet her!
Motto is a delicate lady. She started her life surronded by other cats but found herself at Animal Friends when her owners couldn’t no longer care for her. A humbling experience, for sure, but she is ready to get back in the spotlight and claim the love and adoration she deserves. She is comfortable with cats and would appreciate having a friend or two in her new home. If you want to give a sweet little kitty a second chance, stop in at Animal Friends and see Motto . We are sure she will win your heart.
This handsome fellow, Mahoney, was returned to Animal Friends because he did not get along with the children in his former home. He’s waiting patiently for a new forever home where he can enjoy lots of quiet time, love and attention. Mahoney prefers to show attention on his own terms and does not like being picked up or carried around. He is aloof but friendly and will head-butt you to show you how much he likes you! He is not a lap cat, but he will happily sit next you while you watch TV or read a book. Mahoney is afraid of loud noises and loves peace and quiet, so we think he will be a great addition to a home with no children or other pets. If you’re looking for a handsome, friendly cat, then Mahoney could be the cat for you!
Gracie is a beautiful little cat who found herself at Animal Friends with her sister, Sara, where they are patiently waiting for a new owner to take them both to their new forever home. Being a shy girl, Gracie is very timid around visitors. She prefers to hide from children, as she is afraid of sudden noises and movements. However, if you give Gracie time to adjust, you will soon find yourself cuddling with her while you watch TV. Gracie and Sara have always lived together and really enjoy each others company. They are hoping to find a new home together. Please stop by Animal Friends and ask to meet them!
Hi, Langley is my name and I traveled a long way to get here. I was at an animal shelter in a different county and the nice people at Animal Friends brought me here so that I can find my forever home. I am a little timid at first, but I warm up quickly. I need a few minutes to get to know you and feel that I can trust you and then I am one friendly, silly guy who is hoping that you are the one who is going to adopt me. Toys look like fun, but I am not sure what to do with them. I am learning all types of new things here, like walking on a leash, how to play with other dogs, and how to be well-mannered. I still haven’t mastered them all yet, but the volunteers here think I am doing really well. They also think a home with older children would be better for me…I am sure it is because I get so excited with all of these new, wonderful things in my life. Won’t you come to Animal Friends to meet me?
